Overview
The MSU College of Nursing offers a bachelor’s in nursing (BSN) program that provides a broad professional preparation, integrating biological, physical and behavioral sciences as well as the humanities. In addition, we offer a study abroad opportunity to England each year, as well as many other ways to enhance your educational journey.
Graduates qualify to take the NCLEX-RN, the licensure examination for eligibility to become a registered nurse. Current reports indicate that MSU BSN graduates who took the NCLEX–RN in 2024 had an average pass rate of 89.87% and an average of 92% during the first quarter of 2025.
Undergraduate Nursing Programs
Our undergraduate nursing program offers three routes to getting your BSN:

Traditional BSN
- • This program is designed for first-degree undergraduate students.
- • Full-time, six-semester option.
- • Minimum of 28 credits and prerequisite coursework.

Accelerated Second Degree BSN
- • This program is designed for those with a bachelor’s degree or higher in another field.
- • Full-time, 16-month program.
- • Earn a BSN on an accelerated timeline.

BSN for Registered Nurses (RN-BSN)
- • This program is designed for registered nurses with an associate’s degree or diploma in nursing.
- • Must hold an unrestricted RN license.
- • Web-based and flexible.
- • Includes community health and leadership clinical practice.
